Founded over 125 years ago, JK Organization is one of the eminent industrial groups in India. The group has multi-business, multi-product and multi-location operations.The companies in the group manufacture and sell a large number of products with leadership position in several areas including Automotive Tyres and Tubes, Paper & Pulp, Cement, V belts, Oil Seals, Power Transmission Systems, Hybrid Seeds, Food & Dairy Products and Clinical Research.

It has operations in large number of states of India with nation­wide network of distributors, retailers and service centres. The group's exports span over seventy countries across six continents. It is recognised as a dynamic force that is playing a key role in the resurgence of India as a business power worldwide.

It has set­up/promoted a number of Educational, Medical and Social Institutions and actively supports such causes.

Late Shri Lakshmipat Singhania (1910-1976) was a visionary with strong nationalist fervor. He was one of the chief architects of J. K. Organisation. He pioneered and offered to the Indian consumers various new products in India for the first time. He made the Indian business transnational even as early as 1950s. His leadership qualities were exemplary. He encouraged professionalism and meritocracy and was associated with various institutions of business, education, research, technology and social sciences; heading many of them.

Late Shri Hari Shankar Singhania was the eldest son of Late Shri Lakshmipat Singhania and was the President of JK Organisation from 1980 till his death.  He was the Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Lucknow from 1992 to 2007.  A Padmabhushan awardee, he was an industrialist and is remembered for his leadership role in many industrial organizations in India and abroad, including President FICCI, Chairman, Population Foundation of India and President of International Chamber of Commerce, Paris as well as various industrial, educational and social organizations.  He was the driving force behind setting up of the Lakshmipat Singhania-IIM Lucknow National Leadership Awards.

Shri Bharat Hari Singhania, younger brother of Shri Hari Shankar Singhania - Director JK Organisation and Chairman JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd & JK Paper Ltd - has taken the baton from his late brother and is very actively involved in ensuring the compliance of the rigorous process in selection of awards.
